The evidential cut-off for the first edition of Regulated to Fail is 14 August 2026. Everything in the printed book rests on what was knowable then. The sector did not stop moving on 15 August.

This stream follows what happened next: the institutions, policies and financial mechanisms the book describes, as they develop. It exists because a fixed edition and a moving subject are an awkward pair, and the honest response is to say where the book stops and keep the record open after that point.

What belongs here

A post appears when something happens that a reader of the book would want to know about — a restructuring, a merger, a recovery, a closure, a covenant event, a fee or visa decision, a significant regulatory intervention. Each one links back to the mechanism in the book that explains it, and to the evidence behind that mechanism.

What will not appear here is commentary for its own sake. The site is not a news blog about higher education; there are better ones. The test for a post is whether it changes, confirms or complicates something the book argued.

What does not belong here

Errors in the book are not updates. If the book got something wrong, that is a correction, and corrections are recorded separately on the corrections page with the original wording alongside. Keeping the two apart matters: one is the world changing, the other is the author being wrong.
